St. Leonard’s Abbey in Montetiffi, Sogliano al Rubicone, Italy
Built in XI century, XIV century frescoes
Despite it is one of the most important Romanesque buildings in the region of Emilia-Romagna, nowadays St. Leonard’s Abbey is still unknown. Built on the top of a lonely rock, it rises above a valley of mountains, cultivated fields and pastures. A place which still preserves in its landscapes and in its few inhabitants a sort of primitivism and simplicity.
